Went summer of 2006
I went over the summer of this year for 2 weeks with my fiancee. First time back in my home country since I was born and left at age of 18 months.
We stayed mostly in Saigon (city where i was born), also known as Ho Chi Minh City. Primary transportation their is by motorcycle/mopeds. The motorcycyles are small bikes...at most 150cc.
I'm glad i knew how to ride a motorcycle already here in the states (which are 600cc) so i was able to smoothly ride the motorcycles over their after a few minutes (the gears are slighly different).
It was pretty hot over their, sweat all the time!
But i have to say, the food was great and cheap!
A bowl of beef noodle soup would have costed $5.50 cents here but it only costs $1 dollar over there. But the portion was smaller of course.
I also got a haircut for 60 cents! So I tipped the guy another 60 cents! lol...
